Re: Americans
Original Star Trek was terrible, but in a good way and had the excuse of low budget.
Original Doctor Who was terrible, but in a good way and had the excuse of low budget.
[budgets raised]
New Star Trek(Not including Enterprise) was great with occasional minor setback(i.e Voyager)
New Doctor Who was just terrible with occasional good moment(Midnight).
Therefore Star Trek wins.

New Doctor Who is flawed yet brilliant.

Re: Americans
Whenever I watched Doctor Who or even(especially) it's adult oriented spin-off Torchwood it feels like I'm being treated like a child, as if instead of watching a prime-time sci-fi I'm watching an afternoon children's drama.

Re: Americans
I wasn't impressed when they tried to kill off Daniel, even when he came back the whole show started sliding down, when Col. O'Neil left the show was killed. Atlantis and the two films didn't impress me either.

Re: Americans
True Stargate SG-1 is better than Doctor Who.. Atlantis and the other one is bad though... nobody can match up to O'Niel.

And you can have the revolver, but we want the lightbulb and telephone
They're both British.
Alexander Graham Bell, a Brit, invented the telephone.
Joseph Swan of Newcastle, North East England, UK invented the light bulb before Edison. There is a row of lamps outside Waterstones, Grey St, Newcastle to commemorate the invention.

Shall we get onto the invention of the TV and the world wide web?
