Homework Thread
I dont want to promote people cheating their homework, but i thought it might be nice if we could help each other out if they get really stuck!

Re: Homework Thread
I think this is a great idea. If I get stuck I generally have no one to help me, as my brothers are at work and so is my mum or she's running around like a blue arsed fly, that leaves me mates on MSN and they're generally not much of a help.
Stan, I think it basically means that art always represents something, that for example a portrait is not just a portrait, it has inner meaning hidden inside. However I dropped art before I even took it as a GCSE so that's probably complete bullplop.
I'll mainly be helping people with English, History, Geography, as well as French and Science. My school has forced me to take French and Science AS's in year 11 as we took GCSEs early, that's what you get when you're too bright.
The Science AS I'm taking is Science in Society, anyone else taking that?

Re: Homework Thread
this ladies and gents is how I've been getting trough my exams
the TI 84 plus, one of the most advanced pocket calculators in the world. Obligated in most belgian school, and had the capacity to even store notepad docs. (you can see where I'm going... sry miss, I didn't knew the summary of all my math definitions and formula's where accidentally put in there )
god, I'd kiss the man who invented that machine

I've been on English forums for 9 years now and though they've explained me several times, I still haven't figured it out.

Ok, forget the art question, can ANYBODY show me how the quadratic equation is proven?!
ax^2 + bx + c = 0
Make x the subject, into the form of x = (-b +- root -b^2 - 4ac)/2a

Re: Homework Thread
its not that hard really. I give you a few start of tips, first move c to teh other side to get ax^2 +bx = -c then divide both sides by a.
After this comes probably the hardest step you have to complete the square.
Then you have to do a bit of algebra take the square root of both sides at one stage and rearrange everything.
If you want to i will post a link to a good explanation side. But you should be able to figure it by yourself
