Do you mean Flash or is it an AS question?

EDIT: If it is an AS question, it would have reason to be here.

Well I don't really have a question (yet). I was just wondering who here has it and who can work with Flash and/or AS.

Wait I do have a question, why doesn't a button in a movieclip work?

If you have a button in a movieclip and the movieclip on the timeline, you can guess it wont be the same as having the button on the timeline. If you want to do anything that involves the timeline from a button that is encapsualted within a movieclip, you will need to use the _root variable of the movieclip. i.e.
For a button on the timeline

gotoAndPlay("Frame Label")

For a button in a movieclip

_root.gotoAndPlay("Frame Label")

That is all I can guess. I've only ever used Flash for the 30-day trial before getting bored with the attitude of many Flash advocates.

Yeah I know that, but for some reason that still doesn't work.

To clarify, this is a button that is a member of a movieclip and your creating instances of the movieclip onto the timeline?

EDIT: Also, are you using AS3?

I found the problem, If I put a script in a movieclip and inside this movieclip is a button, the button won't work.
I fixed that. I use AS2; that looked easier when I started working with AS.
