I was wondering whether anyone had taken this? If so what was it like and what did you chose out of:

Astrophysics
Medical Physics
Applied Physics
Turning Points in Physics

For unit 5 @ A2?

Thanks in advance.

That is clearly something different to what im doing!

Im doing edexcel, and the 3 areas we do at AS are:

Physics in Sport (i.e. Velocity, acceleration etc.)
Physics in Spare Parts (i.e. hip replacement)
Physics in the Food Industry (i.e. viscosity of treacle)

Pretty fun actually

Oh right, as you can see the college I'm going to is AQA Physics.

So let me rephrase: anyone done AQA Physics?

Im doing it as we speak, alot on moments and basic physics at the moment, very very hard to be honest. Still in school aswell.

I'm doing it this year. They're giving us the choice as a whole class between Medical Physics and Turning Points, although they haven't asked for a final decision yet. It seems that most people are going to vote for medical, which is a pain in the bum because I hate Biology. If the other people want to do Biology they should have just picked Biology, they shouldn't be trying to inflict it on me as well.

Well Im currently stuck on moments, never been given the choice of medical physics. Surely that things like "how can we increase the movement and angles this metal hip joint can move" ?

I'm doing AQA physics as well. The mechanics in AS physics is mostly what makes up M1 in Edexcel maths. Moments, limiting equilibreum (if I can spell it), friction etc. so if your doing maths and physics, there will be a period in one of them where you get bored.

our school is either going to do Astrophysics or Turning Points in Physics.

both are pretty interesting but as a historian i'd prefer the turning points! study
