Royal Navy Reserves - Page 4 Empty Re: Royal Navy Reserves

I cant post articles, because its just completely breaks when I copy and paste from word. I tried to rewrite it in the article page, but that didnt work and it took 30mins, so im not doing it again. I figure ill just post it here until V1 isnt so buggy...

This is what you might call a "pilot" issue. If it's well received and people want more of the same, i'll continue writing these articles.

The alarm beeped at 8am, Tuesday 14 October 2008. I shuffled out of bed and scrambled for the alarm, wiping my eyes; shielding them from the morning sunshine. I thrust open the curtains, looking out onto the dawn of the New World. What a sight it was to behold; new infrastructure broke the skyline, with factories pumping out smoke from their tall pipes, shops opening and people rushing to their new jobs. I quickly got dressed, took out a Reformer's cigarette, Communist cigarettes last month, from my ragged coat and trotted down the stairs of the murky flat, tipping my hat to the landlord as I exited the sprawling complex.

As I walked down the streets, hands in pockets, I took notice of the torn posters. Gone were the grand proclamations of "V1 Is Coming!", and they were replaced with the traditional War posters with Minister of Defence Widdows boldly pointing his finger, requesting soldiers for the upcoming continuation of the morbid World War 1. Opposite were images of an almost statuesque Tim calling for Australian Independence against the Indonesian "oppressors". At least the period of transition had been peaceful, now we were to be thrown against each other once again in bloody wars; some worth fighting for, others simply started by the whims of powerful leaders.

I continued hurriedly walking to work where I would further fuel the war effort by producing dozens of firearms a day; it seemed that life in this New World was perpetually continued by war. Without it our economies buckled and our workers revolted, with it, hundreds died. Once again, we fought for the eternal “greater good”.

I finished work by filling out some mundane questions, supposedly for the new worldwide census which was aimed at increasing the average IQ. Suddenly, I heard shouts of men behind me. I quickly turned my head to see a gang of members of the PCP. They were marching against unequal rights; that the capitalists had ruined the nation and that the PCP had unjustly lost the recent election. A rival UKRP gang, now named the “Police” by the government quickly arrived, brandishing pistols at the armed mob that had a motley assortment of knives and torches. Before they started actively using their weapons, they shouted abuse at each other, the UKRP claiming the PCP have actively brought down a crash on the food market, leaving companies out of business. I turned my back on the situation, not caring to hear it out. As I turned the corner, I heard gunshots and sirens. It was a common occurrence in the United Kingdom and it did not look like it was going to stop anytime soon, even with the hailed V1 having arrived.

I would like to stress that this is an extremely dramatised version of events happening in the eUK. Once again, if you would like to see more of these vote and comment.

Thanks
